What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Shipping and billing information

If you request a quote on Farmhouse Exchange, we will automatically save your information and generate an account for you. We (Farmhouse Exchange) soley intend for these details to be used by the store in the quoting, ordering and fulfilment of your order. This could include the store using your details to provide a quote, potentially contacting you to confirm any further details they need in order to provide a quote, and fulfilling your quote if you accept (including providing shipping and delivery services).

Please note, we do our best to work closely with stores to create a good environment for our marketplace, but we cannot ultimately be held responsible in any way for the behaviour or privacy practices of our stores. Please reach out to the stores directly to understand any issues around their treatment of these issues. We are a new website, but take these issues seriously and intend to develop the necessary framework to support good and safe ecommerce practices in the near to medium term future.

Who we share your data with

When you make an order with a store, that store will see your contact details for the purposes of fulfilling your order, or potentially contacting you to confirm details of your order.
